What We Pour

Concrete services built around real projects

Jim Byrne Construction’s concrete work spans home foundations and flatwork, decorative finishes, ICF construction, commercial site concrete and agricultural slabs. Whether the project is a driveway replacement, a new foundation, a stamped patio or a farm floor, the scope is planned around the load, drainage, access and finish the property requires.

Concrete Foundations

A foundation sets the geometry and load path for everything built above it. Our foundation work starts with accurate layout, elevations and a clear understanding of the structure, then moves through formin…

Concrete Driveways

A driveway is one of the most heavily used concrete surfaces on a residential property. It has to carry vehicles, meet the garage cleanly, drain away from structures and survive winter plowing and repeated…

Concrete Patios

A good patio feels like an extension of the house rather than an isolated slab. Shape, door location, furniture zones, grill placement, drainage and the relationship to decks or landscaping all influence a…

Agricultural Concrete

Farm concrete sees a different kind of service than a patio or residential sidewalk. Equipment loads, livestock traffic, drainage, wash-down, seasonal timing and the size of working areas all shape the way…

Minnesota Conditions

Good concrete starts below the finished surface

Rochester-area concrete has to manage frost, spring moisture, summer heat, snow removal and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The visible finish is only one part of the job.

  • Grades planned so water leaves the slab and structures
  • Base preparation matched to the site and use
  • Reinforcement and joints coordinated with the project
  • Finish selected for traction, appearance and maintenance
  • Curing treated as part of the installation, not an afterthought

Project Flow

From site conditions to finished concrete

1

Review the project

We start with what you are building, how the surface will be used, access, grades and existing conditions.

2

Plan the pour

Layout, removal, excavation, base, reinforcement, finish and transitions are defined before the concrete is ordered.

3

Place & finish

The crew forms, places and finishes the concrete around the requirements of that specific slab, wall or foundation.

4

Cure & use

We explain the cure window and when the surface can safely return to foot traffic, vehicles or its intended load.

Decorative Concrete

Concrete can be structural and still look considered

Stamped patterns, exposed aggregate, color and staining give owners more choices than plain gray concrete. The finish should still match the use of the surface: a pool deck needs different traction than an interior floor, and a driveway sees different wear than a patio.
