Planning before concrete arrives
Before the pour, penetrations, plumbing elevations, floor drains and any under-slab insulation or vapor barrier need to be in the right place. Once concrete is placed, moving those systems is far more disruptive.
Built for Southeast Minnesota conditions
Minnesota basements face ground moisture and long heating seasons. Moisture-control and insulation details should follow the building design, while the slab finish should match whether the floor will remain exposed or receive another material.
Finish and project options
A basement slab can be finished for utility use, prepared for future flooring or, where suitable, used as a decorative stained concrete surface.
