Planning before concrete arrives
Aggregate choice, exposure depth and surrounding finishes all influence the final appearance. Timing during placement is especially important because the surface is intentionally worked to reveal aggregate without washing away the matrix that holds it.
Built for Southeast Minnesota conditions
The textured surface can provide useful visual depth and traction in Minnesota, but de-icing practices and periodic sealing should be discussed so the decorative face remains attractive through winter exposure.
Finish and project options
Exposed aggregate can cover the whole slab or be used as a border or accent next to broom-finished concrete. Aggregate color and size depend on available mixes and the desired appearance.
